  • Australian yellow split mung beans are mixed with spices - black pepper, salt, cumin seeds and garlic - and yellow lentils to bring you a jewel of India’s dish!

    Our Jewelled Mung Dhal is a one pot wonder that will result in a mildly spiced creamy lentil curry. Nourish the body, mind and soul with this nutritious dish.

    Delicious, hearty and filling on its own, we can also recommend having the Mung Dhal as the jewel finish to your overall meals of grilled, fried or BBQ meats, vegetables or tofu.

    • 1 box Turban Chopsticks Jewelled Mung Dahl Kit
    • 2 cups fresh leafy greens i.e spinach, kale, silverbeet
    • 1 cup diced vegetables ie. pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot
    • 1 onion diced
    • 2 tbsp preferred oil
    1) RINSE yellow mung beans in sieve under cold water for 30 seconds. Drain well.
    2) HEAT saucepan over low heat. Add oil and onion, sauté until golden brown. Add diced vegetables, saute for 2 minutes. Add enclosed packet of spices, sauté for 30 seconds.
    3) ADD rinsed mung beans to saucepan with 4 cups of cold water.
    4) COOK for 25-30 minutes over medium heat with lid on. Stir occasionally.
    5) ADD leafy greens and stir well. Greens will collapse and soften.

  • Cooking time varies on the desired texture of the lentils you prefer. For extra creaminess cook for a further 5 minutes. Replace veggies with either fish, lamb or chicken for a lentil curry feast.
